Karhu is a running brand from Finland that has been making waves in the athletic world since 1916. The brand is known for pushing the envelope regarding innovation within running shoes. Today the brand is still a trailblazer but also sells reissues of classic silhouettes.
The word Karhu means bear in Finnish, hence the brand's logo. It used to have a three-striped logo, but they sold it to a well-known sports brand in the 50s. Apparently, they still use the logo to this day. It was also around this time when Karhu took the world by storm during the Olympics. Finnish athletes dominated the fast track, and all wore Karhu Spikes - the rest is history.
