Exactly two years ago we launched our first Tenue de Nîmes Pablo jeans. In August 2015 we released the first jeans made from Rampuya’s beautiful ‘Memphis’ shade, a 14,5 oz Japanese denim fabric. The run was limited to 140 pairs and ran out before we knew it. I was fortunate enough to get my hands on a size 31 and basically never took them off after. As you can see on the pictures the jeans are worn a lot and I have soaked my jeans 4 times now. The first time was after 8 months of wear. For those of you who are wondering what the funny patches are on the inside of the legs: This is collateral damage of a bad call I made when I just had the jeans.
I decided to taper the legs a little bit. Unfortunately I regret my decision because in the winter after I bought my first Red Wing Pecos boots which I could not wear underneath my Pablo anymore. Therefore I decided to use some of the original fabric I had left from hemming my jeans and made in straight again. Joery from our Denim & Repairs room at the Tenue de Nîmes Haarlemmerstraat store decided he wanted to adorn the inside of the leg with various original scrapes of Japanese to cover up the surgery. The result is a pair of denim the way we like it: Unique, personal and worn like a second skin!
