TDN x Fullcount – Tenue de Nîmes

EXCLUSIVE RELEASE LAUNCHING THIS THURSDAY

We've partnered with Fullcount & Co., one of Japan's most respected denim houses and known as one of the 'Osaka Five', to create an exclusive jean limited to just 50 pieces worldwide. Every pair is made in Japan on original shuttle looms, hand sewn and crafted from Zimbabwean cotton. The same long-staple fibre that gave vintage American denim its character before the industry moved on to cheaper alternatives. Fullcount never moved on.

The maker

Fullcount was founded in Osaka in 1993 by Mikiharu Tsujita with a single obsession: recreating the golden age of American denim using the best raw materials and traditional Japanese craftsmanship. Over three decades later, the formula hasn't changed. Shuttle looms. Zimbabwean cotton. Hand-sewn construction. No shortcuts, no compromise.
The "TDN" in the lot number stands for Tenue de Nîmes. This is our jean: a collaboration built on years of mutual respect between two houses that believe denim is worth doing properly.

The jean

Lot 0105TDN is a relaxed straight fit in a light vintage wash with natural ageing. The denim has the kind of texture and depth you only get from shuttle-woven fabric; a subtle irregularity in the weave that mass-produced denim simply can't replicate. The wash brings out the character of the cotton, with honest fading that tells a story before you've even worn them in.
The details are pure Fullcount: a leather patch stamped with the twin dragon motif, copper rivets, a button fly and clean selvedge visible on the turn-up. Each pair is individually numbered.

50 pieces

It's the reality of making jeans this way. Shuttle looms are slow. The cotton is sourced in small quantities. The sewing is done by hand. Fifty pairs is what this run produced and when they're gone, they're gone.
Available exclusively at Tenue de Nîmes, Elandsgracht 60, Amsterdam and online at tenuedenimes.com.
