Vintage sneaker lovers rejoice! After a more than 20 year lasting hiatus, American footwear brand Autry has made a comeback with capital C. Founded in Dallas, Texas in 1982, Autry or ‘the shoe with the American flag’ was regarded as one of the more popular sneakers of the 80s.
Autry’s sneaker designs gained recognition thanks to design and technical innovations such as the patented ActionSorb insole, and counter-lock-cord ankle support system. Besides this Autry’s sneakers are made from a soft and supple leather, providing both comfort, as well as optimal performance where needed. As a result, the sneakers received praise early on from big names such as Esquire and Sports Illustrated.
Autry took a break from production following the passing of the brand’s founder, Jim Autry, but the iconic sneakers made their comeback in 2019. With minimalistic, yet timeless unisex designs inspired by the brand’s original designs, there is a pair for everyone.
