Last year, on our annual buying trip to Japan, we fell in love with And Wander, a Japanese brand specialising in the finest outerwear. As Japanese and outdoor enthusiasts ourselves, we knew we wanted to offer And Wander in our Amsterdam store.
Founded in 2011 by designers Keita Ikeuchi and Mihoko Mori, who previously worked together at Issey Miyake, And Wander was born from a passion for making outdoor fashion as enjoyable as everyday wear. The goal was to connect people to nature through stylish, functional gear crafted for both city and outdoor adventures. "The pleasure of playing in the mountains" has been the brand’s philosophy from day one. They specialise in high-quality garments made from durable, lightweight, water-resistant, and windproof materials, bringing a fresh perspective by combining the outdoors with urban relevance.
And Wander shot to international fame after winning the Tokyo Fashion Award in 2016, and by 2017, they had opened their flagship Tokyo store, “MT–functional creative comfortable.” The store quickly became home to the And Wander Hiking Club, where the brand brings people together for group adventures like hiking, camping, and skiing. Through these events, Ikeuchi and Mori aim to help people make nature a bigger part of their everyday lives.
