Next Chapter: Momotaro Limited Edition Collaboration – Tenue de Nîmes

What a week this is! The Denim Kingpins show, Transformers and this weekend the Amsterdam Denim Days Festival in town. What an incredible week to release our second Tenue de Nîmes 10 year anniversary collaboration with Momotaro from Japan! Tenue de Nîmes was the very first store in Europe to carry Momotaro jeans. Back in 2008 when we started the store we were allowed to do a shop-in-shop with the Japanese denim legends. We sold a broad selection of Momotaro jeans (their Japan Blue brand was not yet launched) and became the destination for the Momotaro Copper Label and Vintage Label in the Netherlands and beyond. But the first line we introduced was the Momotaro ‘Going to Battle’ collection with the distinctive stripes on the right back pocket. These stripes were inspired by the war stripes from the Japanese Samurai.

The 'Going to Battle’ Momotaro jeans were the starting point of our Tenue de Nîmes 10 year collaboration.

Because our first store was at Elandsgracht 60 in Amsterdam we decided to make 60 pieces of the High Tapered 0405 jeans. For this collaboration we made a special tattooed version of the legendary peach boy: 'Momo-taro’ with a tattooed Tenue de Nîmes cross on his belly. The design is visible on the leather patch and the pocket flasher. The stripes on the back pocket are made in a special Tenue de Nîmes blue. The fabric is a heavy weight (nearly 16oz) indigo warp, black weft fabric. The jeans come in a special screen-printed cloth bag with blue the collaboration design. Please don’t miss out on the Ichi-Go Ichi-E message on the flasher: A Japanese phrase to live by because we should cherish every (unique) moment in our lives, as it may not come to us again! We hope you will enjoy this one as much as we do! Check out the jeans via this link
